Camping, Adventure, Or Survival Water Purification

Chlorine dioxide is a powerful disinfectant, sanitizer, sterilant, and deodorizer that has been used for many years in a variety of applications. One of the most important uses of chlorine dioxide is for camping, adventure, or survival water purification. Chlorine dioxide effectively kills many waterborne pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. It is also simple to use and can be carried in small, lightweight containers, making it an ideal solution for outdoor enthusiasts.

In addition to its effectiveness as a water purifier, chlorine dioxide is also safer than alternatives. However, you should boil water whenever possible. It is non-toxic and does not produce harmful byproducts like other disinfectants, such as chlorine. It also does not leave any foul taste or odor in the water, making it ideal for drinking.

Using chlorine dioxide for water purification in outdoor settings is simple and straightforward. Typically, a small amount of chlorine dioxide is added to the water to be treated. A concentration of 0.8 to 1.0 ppm is recommended. The solution is then allowed to sit for 30 to 45 minutes to allow the chlorine dioxide to work its magic.

SKIN SANITIZER AND POTABLE WATER. ROUTINE DISINFECTION, OR IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS FOR DRINKING WATER.

Use on skin contact for all ages including babies and animals. Deactivate germs at the source with an antimicrobial agent that cannot penetrate deeply into living tissues. No chemicals or harmful residue left behind, leaving skin feeling soft and odor-free. No wipe or rinse required. Use as an antimicrobial and general cleaning application for potable water systems, where there is a lack of fresh, clean drinking supply, such as a river, stream, or stagnant water vessel such as a pond, or storage container. Prepare activated solution to a strength consistent with the maximum EPA threshold for skin contact, consistent with a hand dip for poultry workers to sanitize and kill all germs in seconds, or a strength consistent with EPA maximum exposure for human ingestion and water systems.
