Biohazard situations pose compliance, safety and health challenges. Clean Solutions™ follows OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen regulations. We also follow universal precautions to protect customers and employees. Our science-based approach ensures that we isolate the affected areas to prevent cross contamination, remove any biological material and blood traces, disinfect and deodorize and test to verify that there are no pathogens. Because your safety and health are at stake, we are thorough and diligent.

What is biological remediation?

Many people think biohazard remediation, and it’s more common alternative, crime scene cleaning, sounds like regular cleaning. The reality is that these services are very different. Biohazard remediation is the process of removing, cleaning and disinfecting blood, bodily fluids and potentially dangerous pathogens from affected areas following a death, accident or outbreak of communicable diseases. Biohazard remediation, due to the high risk of bloodborne pathogens, is a specialist service that requires training, certification, licensing, and equipment.

Clean Solutions™ Services has developed a multi-step process for remediation and a line of EPA approved cleaning agents. This is to ensure the safety and health of our customers as well as their property. As leaders in chemical & biohazard remediation, we ensure that both our employees and customers are completely protected. Our 100% customer satisfaction guarantee is a testament to our commitment to quality. Clean Solutions cleanup specialists are highly trained in cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing homes and businesses.

PROCESS FOR Clean Solutions™ BIOLOGICAL REMEDIATION

ASSESS

We conduct an initial walk-through of the area and OSHA-mandated employee safety hazard assessment before we start disinfection.

CONTROL & SETUP

To control the affected area, we use OSHA's cross-contamination protocols. We secure and separate it from the rest of the structure and any inhabitants.

REMOVAL

All visible signs of blood or biological material are removed from the affected areas. This is the most hazardous step in the remediation process.

CLEAN, DISINFECT AND DEODORIZE

We disinfect, clean, and deodorize the affected surfaces after we have removed contaminated items, our goal is low impact remediation.

VERIFY

We use Ultraviolet (UV) and Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), testing technology protocols, to ensure hospital-level disinfection.

WHY IS DISINFECTING PROPERLY SO IMPORTANT?

In cases of a death or accident where blood is present, there is a risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and biohazards ranging from viruses like Hepatitis to bacteria like MRSA. According to the CDC, 1 in 24 people have either Hepatitis B or C. Clean Solutions™ has created a science-based, safety-focused remediation process to protect the health and wellbeing of customers, employees, as well as affected properties, because of these potential dangers. OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standards require that cleanup protocols be followed. This includes taking universal precautions and providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to our employees. If customers need to access affected areas, we also offer PPE. We aim to minimize the risk for everyone involved.

Clean Solutions™ Services takes universal precautions to protect customers and employees. Our science-based approach ensures that we isolate the affected areas to prevent cross contamination, remove any biological material and blood traces, disinfect and deodorize and test to verify that there are no pathogens or bacteria. Because your safety and health are at stake, we are meticulous and thorough. When selecting an unattended death cleanup company, customers should utilize a checklist to ensure the company adheres to professional cleaning standards.

We understand it can be overwhelming and difficult to deal with a traumatic situation, but we are here to offer our support, expertise, and resources. Here is a complete checklist to help you in your search for reliable, professional cleanup companies. An experienced provider will have the necessary licenses and certificates available on request.
Our mission is to empower and educate you in order to make the right decision for yourself, your family, and your business.

It is important to hire a death cleanup professional. To many, bioremediation (alternatively, crime scene cleanup or death cleanup) may sound like standard cleaning. It is the process of removing, cleaning up, and disinfecting blood, bodily fluids and other potentially dangerous pathogens from affected areas following a death, accident or outbreak of communicable diseases. Unattended death cleanup is a specialist service that requires training, certification, licensing, and equipment because of the high risk of bloodborne pathogens.

Biohazard cleanup is not like regular house cleaning or business cleaning. It requires expertise in the industry, specialized equipment and certifications. Inadequate cleanup can lead to further damage and raise safety and health risks. Clean Solutions™’s 5-step disinfection procedure is backed by experience and research. To ensure that our customers’ property returns to safe and livable conditions, we thoroughly clean and disinfect any biohazards.

An odor can be caused by a variety of factors, including trauma, unattended deaths, crime scenes, hoarding, or pets. Even though overwhelming and pungent odors are not toxic, they can be deadly if they come from biological material that is in decay.

Unattended death is a difficult situation for us as death cleanup and odor elimination specialists. This is when a person is killed and not found for days or weeks. The Clean Solutions™ of a death cleanup can prove to be difficult for the loved ones. Professional trauma scene cleaners such as Clean Solutions™ Services should handle the cleanup, due to the disturbing nature of the decomposition process and the health risks associated.

Even the smallest amount can cause severe physical damage to your home if it is not treated. Lingering odors from airborne bacteria can cause unpleasant stench that can affect the safety and well being of future occupants.

HOW LONG DOES A BODY STELL AFTER DEATH?
It doesn’t take long for a body to start to smell. The odor may begin to affect a home’s ability to live in certain weather conditions within hours of death. Within a matter of days, personal property like furniture, books and carpeting can be permanently damaged.

Clean Solutions™’s local teams are certified biohazard remediation specialists and death cleaning specialists. They wear personal protective equipment and adhere to approved safety and disinfection protocols to ensure that the scene is left clean and safe. Clean Solutions™ Services can help you with any type of odor or death cleanup in your home, office, or business.

We will take away personal property as well as any affected structural elements (e.g. flooring) and dispose of them according to federal, state and local biohazard waste regulations.

For full-scopes work, a Certificate of Treatment is issued. This certificate can be attached as an attachment to any bill of sale. It acts as a guarantee of disinfection. To verify a high level of disinfection, we use the same technology as hospitals to conduct adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), fluorescence testing.

Individual families, property managers, and commercial customers can all benefit from our unattended death cleanup services. Clean Solutions™’s skilled technicians are available 24/7 to assist you so that you don’t have to wait to get service.

Different odors are produced by the gases and compounds in decomposing bodies. While not all compounds produce odors, several compounds do have recognizable stenches:

  • Putrescine and cadaverine smell like rotting flesh
  • Skatole is known for its strong feces smell
  • Indole has a mothball-like, mustier smell
  • Hydrogen sulfide smells like rotten eggs
  • Methanethiol smells like rotting cabbage
  • Trisulfide, dimethyl disulfide, and trisulfide emit a garlic-like, foul odor.

Tenants who are rented to landlords or property owners are more likely than tenants to die unattended. It is important to know what the smell of a dead body is in order to maintain the safety and health of tenants as well as the structure of an apartment or building.

Tenant: Inform your landlord or property manager about the smell to allow them to call a professional to remedy the situation.

HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL DECONTAMINATION

Hazardous chemical decontamination is possible by applying the OSHA HAZWOPER Standards. It also requires being able to identify the chemical or substance that caused the contamination. There are many chemicals that can cause harm to our health. Some have the potential for causing death or long-term illness. Once we have identified the source of the contamination, and gathered other pertinent information, we can begin to make a safety plan to allow entry into the affected area.

Safety is our top concern, as with all emergency decontamination projects. Any threat to life or health that we consider imminent will be dealt with immediately. To ensure that all risks are addressed, we will conduct a Job Hazard Analysis.

Exposure to hazardous chemicals can lead to harm in many ways. The most common is through inhalation. We will ensure that the proper respiratory protection is in place, and we will provide the right respirators for the job. It is crucial to protect our workers and others who may be exposed. A single mistake could endanger someone’s life.

We can help you decontaminate and mitigate any hazardous chemical event or spillage. We provide hazardous chemical decontamination services throughout the United States.

The type and extent of contamination, the hazards present, the severity of the event and the nature of the business all affect the decontamination process. All decontamination projects begin the same. To protect workers and restore the property to a safe, healthy environment, it is important to learn as much information as possible.

Life safety is the main focus of all efforts after a CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear) event. Safety plans are created using an off-site survey. They are reexamined once a team enters a building and modified as necessary through constant monitoring throughout the decontamination process. To ensure safety for workers and occupants, it is essential to adhere to OSHA guidelines. Clean Solutions™ covers the OSHA guidelines with our Job Hazard Analysis, HAZCOM Program and initial interview forms.

The off-site survey includes assessing the hazards, buildings, and surrounding area, as well as compiling a detailed account about the activities that occurred at the site. The initial phase of decontamination includes perimeter reconnaissance to identify potential hazards, accessibility and possible routes by which the hazard might disperse. We can also create a safety plan for identified hazards by conducting an off-site survey.

Only after an off-site survey has been completed and a safety plan is in place for entry, can a team be allowed to enter the building for the on-site survey. An onsite survey serves to verify the safety plan’s accuracy and make any necessary modifications. Four workers will be required to wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Two workers will enter the site, while two others will be immediately outside and will serve as backup to help with an emergency or to help find the appropriate help. The hazard will determine which tasks the team within the contaminated area can complete.

  • Indoor air quality testing
  • Examining for potential physical dangers
  • Identification of potential exposure hazards
  • Important building construction features
  • Initial documentation, including photos and videos

Written notes of the observations in the contaminated building should be made in a format that is easy to understand by the entry team. Once the onsite survey has been completed and the team has exited with their PPE clean, they should review the information and make any necessary modifications to the original safety plan.

The situation should be monitored throughout the decontamination process to detect new hazards as they occur. We will address any new hazards by using the Job Hazard Analysis. This is an important part in the documentation process. The Job Hazard Analysis is used for safety concerns to be communicated to the decontamination crew at least once per day.

The first steps of a decontamination program can take only a few hours to complete depending on how severe the hazards are and the potential exposure. These initial surveys are crucial to the success and foundation of any decontamination project.

The services of decontamination cover everything from nuclear to biological clean-ups. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) classifies hazardous waste clean ups into 5 different categories including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive, also known as CBRNE. CBRNE is a hazardous waste operation and emergency response situation that requires decontamination training for all companies. Clean Solutions™’ decontamination team receives this training. We follow the OSHA HAZWOPER guide (29 CFR 1910.120(q).

We also, as required by law, provide all employees with appropriate levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) under the HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120(q)) sub part 1. The PPE used depends on how hazardous the substance release is, which includes the quantity and potential health effects to workers. Workers involved in decontamination work should also have proper immunizations including Tetanus A and B.

Our decontamination team is highly qualified, certified, and has extensive experience. Our team is familiar with large projects that involve multiple industry experts as well as multiple materially interested parties. It is not unusual for additional experts to be required during large projects. The vast network of experts in the industry, including engineers and industrial hygienists, is familiar with these types of projects. They are available to help if necessary.

OUR OTHER CLEANING SERVICES

Happiness and cleanliness are the keys to happiness. It is possible to disinfect surfaces with ease. It is possible to have us do it, or you can hire staff. To get the best rates, we recommend you clean your room prior to arriving.

Clean Solutions™ provides specialty services such as vehicle remediation, removal of tear gas, and cleanup from hoarding. Each service presents unique challenges and requires expertise.

A vehicle accident or blood spillage requires more than a simple wipe-down of biohazards and debris. To properly disinfect and eliminate lingering pathogens, it requires a chemical treatment.

Tear gas can cause severe physical reactions and is very difficult to eradicate. Tear gas removal requires experience, careful planning, and specialized equipment. The irritating effects of tear gas can last for months and render the property uninhabitable.

:Many people don’t realize the dangers to their health and safety that cleanups that involve hoarding are connected with biohazards pose. These hoarding situations can be worsened by the need to move large quantities of material and unknown bacteria growth.

Clean Solutions™ adheres to all applicable regulations and follows strict protocols in each case. These are delicate situations and we offer immediate assistance with discretion.

Tear gas also leaves behind residue that can present serious health hazards if not properly treated, particularly within the confined spaces of a home or business. It is not an easy job to remove gas. Professionals should do it. To remove all traces of tear gas, it is important to hire experts who are trained to eliminate the effects.

Sometimes, law enforcement officers may have to resort to tear gas or other non-lethal chemical methods to subdue people in volatile situations. Keep in mind, however, that “non lethal” does not necessarily mean “harmless”. Tear gas canisters and pellets can make you cry, but they can also cause severe physical reactions. Tear gas canisters and pellets are designed to irritate the mucous membranes in the eyes, nose and mouth. They can cause difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, and even diarrhea.
Tear gas residue can seep through porous materials such as furniture, carpet, clothing, and hardwood floors. It can also continue to irritate the mucous membranes for anyone who lives in the property or visits it. It is essential that any tear gas residue be neutralized and the property or home is restored to a safe, healthy condition.

If you have been subjected to tear gas, you need to remove the gas from your hands and body to stop the physical irritation. You should seek professional help if your business or home has been affected by the tear gas. What is the reason?

Tear gas cleanup requires professionals with the right equipment and knowledge. Professional cleanup companies have access to personal protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and gas masks. A professional cleanup company has access to specialized cleaning agents and can test whether a scene is completely cleaned up.
If not cleaned properly, the harmful effects of teargas residue can last for many months. Tear gas can enter any area, no matter how clean it is. It can also penetrate the HVAC system and propel through every corner. The battle is not over if you only see the remnants of tear gas.
Clean Solutions™ employs strict control procedures and the most up-to-date technology to thoroughly clean areas that have been affected by tear gas. Clean Solutions™, a national leader in biohazard, crime site, trauma and tear gas cleanup, is committed to providing compassionate and professional services to all who use it. Call or contact us day or night for more information.

When vehicle biohazard cleanup is more than just a surface clean up of biohazards and debris, it’s necessary to have vehicle biohazard remediation. To properly disinfect and eliminate lingering pathogens from vehicles, a chemical treatment is required.

To thoroughly disinfect any areas affected by homicides or suicides, or other unattended deaths, biohazard vehicle cleaning and disinfection are required. To disinfect the vehicle from any blood, feces or urine, as well as other bodily fluids, it is necessary to remove porous materials.

Clean Solutions™ adheres to all regulations and follows a strict protocol in all cases. This includes proper removal and disinfection. These are delicate situations. We offer prompt assistance and take care.

Clean Solutions™ can handle vehicle and auto remediations just like any other biohazard remedy. After a death, accident or disease outbreak, we do more than simply wipe down surfaces. We also clean up and disinfect bodily fluids and blood. Biohazard remediation, due to the high risk of bloodborne pathogens, is a specialist service that requires training, equipment certification, licensing, and licensure. Clean Solutions™ follows universal precautions and has developed a 3-step remediation procedure and a range of cleaning agents to protect our customers’ health and safety.

Our 3-Step Process for BIOHAZARD Car Cleaning

Equip. Technicians are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), in order to protect themselves against biohazardous substances.

Take care. To prevent contamination from spreading, our technicians will seal the area and remove any visible stained items. Sometimes, this involves removing porous items such as car seats and personal items that cannot be saved or remedied. To contain oiled materials, clearly marked biohazard bags can be used.

DisInfect. The crew disinfects the surfaces with proprietary cleaning agents and methods that eliminate biohazardous materials. After the remediation is completed, we use our proprietary cleaning agents and methods to ensure that no biohazardous materials remain.ATP testingTo check for organic matter on the surface. So you can be sure that the job was done correctly, we double-check our work.
